Aya is the Executive Director of Ethereum Foundation, on the Board of Directors at EEA, an Adviser of OmiseGo, and the Managing Director of the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken in Japan. Aya originally became intrigued by blockchain and crypto for their potential to impact financial inclusion in emerging markets. The interest complemented Aya’s pursuit of an MBA with an emphasis on microfinance. As the Executive Director at Ethereum Foundation, Aya leads the charge in projects that support the Ethereum ecosystem, including R&D and educational efforts to expand the largest blockchain ecosystem. Aya was recently appointed in 2019 to the World Economic Forum’s Blockchain Council and is also a board member of the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance.
