Susan earned a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, and mathematics from Duke University before joining Microsoft in 2007 as a consulting economist. Susan is a board member of Ripple, an open-source blockchain-based distributed payment mechanism. Additionally, Susan holds memberships in American and national academies. Susan is an active board member for some of the leading companies in the U.S. The list is impressive and includes Turo, LendingClub, Expedia, Inc., A Place for Rover, and Ripple Labs. Susan has also served in an advisory capacity to Nyca Partners, Xseed Capital, AppSheet, and Sense. Finally, Susan is a Stanford University Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence faculty member.
