Ruzena is an Electrical Engineer and Professor of computer and science at the University of California – Berkeley and a Founder of the University of Pennsylvania’s General Robotics and Active Sensory Perception program. Ruzena received her first Ph.D. from the Slovak Technical University in 1967 and earned a second Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University in 1972. Ruzena is currently a University of California, Berkeley, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. Computer vision, robotics, and human modeling are among Ruzena’s contributions to A.I. Her expertise is evident in hundreds of published academic articles. Ruzena won the 2013 IEEE Robotics and Automation Award for her computer vision and medical robotics work, among several other honors and recognitions.
