Maja is the founder of Embodied, Inc., creating human-centered socially assistive robotics dedicated to improving the quality of life for special needs populations. Upon receiving a Ph.D. in A.I. and M.I.T. robotics, Maja went to work for Brandeis University and then enjoyed several repeat stints at Southern California. Maja then founded Embodied, Inc., attracting funding to meet the company vision. Maja’s work is focused on special needs people, including the elderly, stroke patients, and children with autism. Her robots have been deployed in hospital settings, therapy centers, schools, and personal residences.
