Lucy works as a Software Engineer at Jigsaw, Alphabet’s product incubator focused on making the world a safer place. Lucy is a Conversation A.I. team member, developing machine learning technologies to detect and prevent online abuse. Her primary focus is on overcoming algorithmic prejudice and working with users to ensure that Conversation A.I. models accurately reflect their requirements. Lucy joined Google in 2010 and worked on machine learning research and engineering for various Google projects before joining Jigsaw. Lucy is a firm believer in education. She served on the Board of Advocates for Citizen Schools, a national non-profit offering career-focused programs for middle schools. Lucy also spent the autumn of 2015 teaching computer science at Xavier University in New Orleans under the Google in Residence program.
