Jia Li is an accomplished professor at the Stanford University Department of Computer Science. Jia also earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University. Jia has spent time away from academia leading Yahoo! Labs’ Visual Computing and Learning Group, then went to work for Snapchat, where she rose to Head of Research. Shortly after that, Google hired Jiato to work in their Cloud Machine Learning department. Jia is well-known for her Snapchat inventions and academic research in computer vision, machine learning, and mobile vision. For example, the software created by Jia and colleagues features new emoji that interact with the surroundings the end-user is photographing.
