Georgia obtained her bachelor’s degree in E.C.E. at NTUA in Athens, Greece. Georgia relocated to the U.S. and received her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where she was advised by Jitendra Malik, before becoming a postdoctoral investigator in 2016 at Facebook A.I. and subsequently becoming a research scientist. Georgia is a Facebook A.I. Research scientist (FAIR). Her research interests include computer vision, emphasizing the recognition of objects and people by static pictures and videos. In 2017 she was awarded the “Mask R-CNN” Marr Prize at the ICCV.
