Fei-Fei Li

Stanford University

Fei-Fei is the director of Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab, director of Stanford Vision Lab, and a professor in the Computer Science Department at Stanford. Fei-Fei has been a member of research teams addressing open problems in computer vision research that have contributed to improving image recognition software. Fei-Fei’s efforts have progressed picture recognition beyond simple item recognition to identifying sceneries and providing English descriptions. Fei-Fei and other researchers use neural networks, which simulate how the human brain operates, to achieve their goal of enhanced A.I. and image recognition which enables A.I. to teach itself to recognize patterns without the need for human input. Fei-Fei and her colleagues have been utilizing neural networks to detect photo content and then compress that information into linguistic forms.
