Diyi Yang

Diyi is a scientist on the rise, recently recognized by Forbes 30 under 30 in Science and IEEE Artificial Intelligence ten to watch. Currently, Diyi is an Assistant Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Diyi is versed in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. While pursuing her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Diyi found time to gain experience at Microsoft and Facebook before joining Google. Diyi’s work has been published in major NLP/HCI conferences and focuses on using conversational text to investigate new societal problems and create new ways to understand human behavior better. In addition, Diyi received a Facebook Fellowship (2017-2019) Presidential Fellowship from C.M.U. (2016-2017). Diyi earned her bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University before earning a master’s and Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University.
