Catherine graduated from Brandeis University with a Ph.D. in Computer Science. She has been fascinated by artificial intelligence since she was a youngster. Marvin Minsky’s book, The Society of Mind, served as a source of inspiration for her. Luminoso is a large part of Catherine’s career, an A.I. and natural language processing startup that helps organizations get more out of their data. Catherine was a co-founder of M.I.T.’s Open Mind Common Sense project and the creator of ConceptNet, an open-source natural language artificial intelligence platform. According to Fast Company, Catherine Havasi was selected as one of the “100 Most Creative People in Business” in 2015. Finally, Catherine is a Co-author of seven peer-reviewed academic publications on artificial intelligence and language and the C.E.O. & Co-founder of Luminoso. Catherine is currently the Chief Product Officer of Basis Technology, which recently merged with Dalang Technologies, where Catherine served as C.E.O. and Co-founder. Catherine is also involved with Snowcap. A.I., where she runs numerous consulting projects. Catherine spent a good portion of her career in various C-suite roles at Luminoso Technologies, Inc.
